I just wanted to send a quick note about my application problem booklets. As you know we use the math curriculum developed by the LSU Cain Center in partnership with the New York State Education Department more commonly known as Engage NY.
An important part of A Story of Units Lessons is the application problem. Students are given a quick word problem, usually based on a previous lesson, and they must solve it using the skills they have acquired throughout the modules.
Well I created some booklets for my firsties for each module.
These booklets have as many application problems as there are lessons, unless there isn't a problem for that lesson for that day.
There are two problems on each booklet page, so four to a printed page. Print front and back, put in order, fold in the middle and BAM! You've got a little booklet for each kiddo.
